Job Summary
The Junior Accountant supports the Finance and Accounting Department in maintaining accurate financial records, processing routine accounting transactions, and ensuring compliance with company policies, ISO 9001:2015 standards, and ERPNext financial workflows. The role is primarily responsible for day-to-day accounting support, documentation, and basic financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
A. Accounting & Financial Operations
- Record daily financial transactions including sales, purchases, expenses, and journal entries in ERPNext.
- Assist in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processing, including invoice matching, billing, and collections monitoring.
- Prepare and post journal vouchers under supervision.
- Support bank and cash reconciliation on a regular basis.
- Maintain and update the general ledger with accuracy and timeliness.
B. Reporting & Documentation
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Ensure proper filing and documentation of accounting records in compliance with internal controls and ISO requirements.
- Support audit preparation by providing requested schedules, reports, and supporting documents.
C. Compliance & Controls
- Follow company accounting policies, internal controls, and approval workflows.
- Ensure compliance with BIR, statutory, and regulatory requirements by supporting data preparation and documentation.
- Assist in monitoring budget utilization and expense controls.
D. ERPNext & Process Support
- Encode and validate financial transactions in ERPNext (GL, AP, AR, Cost Centers, Projects).
- Support data clean-up, reconciliation, and closing activities during month-end and year-end.
- Coordinate with other departments to resolve discrepancies related to financial transactions.
E. Administrative & Team Support
- Assist senior finance staff in ad hoc financial analysis and reports.
- Perform other accounting and finance-related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy, Accounting Technology, Finance, or related course.
Experience
- Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
- At least 1 year of accounting or bookkeeping experience is an advantage.
Skills & Competencies
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficient in MS Excel; experience with ERP systems (ERPNext preferred) is an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organizational and documentation skills.
- Ability to work with deadlines and handle confidential information.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to process-driven environments.

- Accuracy and timeliness of transaction postings.
- On-time completion of reconciliations and assigned reports.
- Compliance with accounting procedures and internal controls.
- Quality and completeness of documentation.
Authority & Accountability
- Authorized to prepare and encode accounting transactions subject to review and approval.
- Accountable for accuracy of data entered and completeness of supporting documents.
Working Relationships
- Internal: Finance Team, Purchasing, Sales, Operations, HR
- External: Banks, suppliers, auditors (as required and under supervision)
Deputization & Business Continuity
- Shall be trained to support basic accounting functions of other finance roles during absences to ensure continuity of operations.
